As a core discipline there is no one rigid pattern to the psychodrama psychotherapy process. However, many practicing 'psychodramatists'* in my experience have agreed upon the existence of the following structure widely known as 'Classical Morenian' psychodrama.

Warm up.

Identification of a protagonist.

Agreeing a 'contract.'

Scene setting.

Action phase.

Enactment.

Closure.

Sharing with the group.

Processing. (in training groups).

* A 'practitioner' described in these notes referrs to a trained therapist. Some trainers and charismatic group leaders use psychodrama in their practice, however they often do not have the same cautions, support- structures and ethics that a qualified practitioner may have.
